Requirements and Courses
The Environmental Humanities Minor gives you flexibility in drawing from many disciplines—from literature and philosophy to sociology and ecology—to cultivate environmental awareness, take local action, and prepare for diverse paths of future care and advocacy.
Overview
Minimum 18 credit hours (Some courses options are 4 hours, but the total will never exceed 20).
9 credit hours must be at the 3000/4000 level.
Three Distribution Lists
- Foundational Environmental Humanities Class (3-4 hours)
- Humanities and the Environment (9 hours)
- Social and Natural Sciences Approaches to the Environment & Human Ecologies (3-4 hours)
& Elective (3 additional hours) from the above distribution lists or as approved by Director of Minor; these three credit hours can include 1-hour EHUM sections of Philanthropy & Public Service (PPS) 1100 or PPS 1101.

- These three credit hours can include (EHUM) sections of Philanthropy & Public Service (PPS) 1100 or PPS 1101. These sections are worth 1 credit each. Only PPS sections with (EHUM) in their titles can count for this minor.
