About Niraja
Niraja is a Student Representative on the Environmental Humanities Core Leadership Team. She is pursuing a major in Biology (pre-med) and two minors in Environmental Humanities and French.
Why She Values Environmental Humanities and Is Serving in Leadership:
I chose Environmental Humanities (EHUM) as one of my minors because it nurtures the relationship between a student and the natural world around them through leadership and community. I have rediscovered my love for nature through the program’s classes, which have provided me with various lenses to view Mother Earth through.
I am also grateful to have had the opportunity of meeting many inspiring fellow students and supportive faculty members, who have brought out the best in me as a student and as a human being. Having the opportunity to represent EHUM allows me to give back to our planet using my renewed knowledge through the program’s courses and innovate within the EHUM community among other leaders. It empowers each individual and brings forward the best of humanity and stewardship at Baylor. It is an honor to be a part of the EHUM leadership team and, in this way, to propel our campus toward a more sustainable future.
